Your email.
One guided connection.
Use your existing company mailbox. You sign in with your email provider and approve access; Relay guides you through the rest.
Open Connect emailBefore you start
Have your work email address ready and choose the correct client workspace in Relay. You’ll need permission to authorize that mailbox and access to your domain’s DNS settings, or help from your IT team.
Seeing “Waiting for Relay activation”?
The Relay platform team must enable that provider first. Customers do not need to create developer applications or supply application secrets. Select your provider in Connect email, contact Relay support and use “Check availability again” after activation. You can prepare your business profile and email drafts while you wait.
Open Relay supportA customer’s workspace owner manages their company’s setup. The Relay platform owner enables the email integrations for the service as a whole.
Connect Google Workspace
- Open Get started → Connect email and choose Google Workspace.
- When available, select Continue with Google Workspace. Sign in on Google’s own screen with your company Gmail account.
- Review Relay’s request to send messages and read email for reply synchronization, including continued access while you’re away. If your organization blocks access, ask its email administrator to review the request.
- Return to Relay and check the connected email address. Continue with the domain checks below. Outreach remains paused after connecting.
If Google says the app is unverified or unavailable to your account, contact Relay support. Public approval is a platform responsibility. A pilot may need your account added as an approved test user.
Connect Microsoft 365
- Open Get started → Connect email and choose Microsoft 365.
- Select Continue with Microsoft 365 when available. Use your organization’s work or school account. Relay’s current Microsoft connection does not support personal Outlook.com or Hotmail accounts.
- Review permissions to identify your account, read and manage mailbox messages, send mail and maintain access. If you see Need admin approval, ask your company’s Microsoft 365 administrator to review Relay.
- Return to Relay, check the connected address and continue with domain verification. You decide separately when outreach starts.
Use the “Copy a message for my IT team” action in Connect email if your administrator needs context.
Confirm your sending domain
- In Confirm your domain, enter the domain after the @ in your sending address.
- Ask your email administrator for the DKIM selector. Generate the Relay verification record and copy the TXT record name and value shown.
- Add that record at your DNS provider. Ask your administrator to check the existing SPF, DKIM and DMARC configuration for your email provider.
- Return to Relay and select Check domain now. Review each result. DNS changes can take time to appear; wait for your DNS provider’s stated propagation period before checking again.
Keep existing mail records intact. Your administrator should update your existing SPF record where necessary rather than add a second one.
Send a test and reply
- Once the mailbox and domain checks are ready, choose Send test to my email. It uses your signed-in email address and does not start a campaign.
- Open Today and check the queued test. If needed, use Check replies & queue while outreach is paused.
- Find the email in your inbox, inspect its sender and authentication results, and reply without changing the subject.
- Check again in Relay. Confirm the reply is recorded and its copy arrives at your saved forwarding email. Confirm receipt in Today.
After the test, continue to your customer list and email review. Connecting a mailbox is not approval to send a campaign.
Choose the problem you can see
The provider says “Setup needed”
Relay has not enabled the integration. Contact Relay support from your workspace. Your IT team does not need to register a separate app for you.
My organization requires administrator approval
Your company controls which apps may access its mailboxes. Ask its email administrator to review the request. Use the copyable IT message in Connect email. Do not bypass its access policy.
Sign-in was cancelled or expired
Return to Connect email and start again. Sign in to Relay first, choose the correct workspace and complete the provider’s sign-in promptly.
I connected the wrong mailbox
Open More tools → Operations, disconnect that mailbox, and return to Connect email to choose the correct account. Recheck your domain and run a fresh mailbox test.
The provider shows “redirect”, “invalid client”, “blocked” or “unverified app”
Copy the error text and report it through Relay support. The platform team must check its application configuration and approvals. Leave passwords, secrets and the full sign-in URL out of your request.
My provider is neither Google nor Microsoft
Open Other connection options in Connect email. An eligible Hunter plan with a supported connected mailbox may be an option; support and charges depend on your Hunter account. Ask Relay support before changing email providers.
